Obesity is a condition characterized by high levels of body fat. You may probably be able to manage a certain amount of excessive fat for sometime, but if your fat levels keep increasing, it is a serious risk factor for different diseases such as high blood pressure, Diabetes and a variety of other serious illnesses. Fortunately, physical exercises combined with a balanced nutritious diet and lifestyle modifications can give you positive results in your battle against the bulge.

Causes of obesity

Although obesity can result due to Genetic factors and/or hormonal imbalances,the most common reason for you to gain weight is the result of an unhealthy imbalance between the amount of calories you consume and the calories you burn through daily physical activities or exercise.

Other factors that can cause obesity:
  • The wrong diet:Eating foods that are high in calories or gorging away on junk food sraises your risk of becoming Obese. Lack of physical activity: If you do not burn calories to the extent that you consume them, you are bound to put on weight.

  • Pregnancy:It is quite natural for women to put on some weight when they get pregnant. But post child birth, some women find it difficult to lose the weight gained during pregnancy. If women fail to shed this weight and get back in shape, this can lead to obesity in women.
