Adding volume to limp hair
Limp hair looks dull and lacking in volume. Some useful tips to add volume to yourhair include:
  • Play with your parting by changing the part of your hair. For example, if you normallypart your hair to the left, changing the part to the right can add volume to yourhair.
  • Use volumizing shampoo and conditioner. If you have volumizing spray, always applyliberally to the roots before blow drying. Blow dry at the roots by lifting up yourhair for a couple of minutes will revive limp locks.
  • If you have some time to style your hair, you can use curlers to give you a wholenew look. And, you are ready to walk away with a little more bounce.
Managing flat and greasy hair
Greasy hair develops a flat and oily appearance. It is often hard to control, clumpstogether and does not hold a style well. The solution to greasy hair is to washit to keep it oil-free and clean. However, if you are really crunched for time towash your hair, you can try the following quick fixes:
  • Put a small amount of baby powder in your hands and gently rub it into the rootsof dry hair to soak up the extra oil and watch greasiness disappear. Be sure toshake the excess powder out and avoid applying on the hairline and the part. Evencornstarch will work the same way.
  • Blotting your scalp with an oil-blotting strip made for the face is also an effectivequick fix for greasy hair.
  • Tie your back in a low ponytail to make the greasyhair less noticeable.
Taming frizzy hair
Frizzy hair may be the result oftoo much heat or chemicals used to color, straighten or curl your hair. They stick up and out in odd angles. Dry and frizzyhair appears dulland lacks moisture. Here are some useful tips to tame frizzy hair:
  • Conditioning is of utmost importance to control frizzy hair. Try for frizz-controlledconditioner.
  • Always pat dry your hair with a towel as rubbing the hair willonly worsen the condition.
  • Frizzy hair is often best styled with gels, whichshould be applied when the hair is wet. Do not blow dry but allow the hair to drynaturally.
  • In case you need a quick fix, apply a little lotion over your hair, especially atthe tips. This is an effective way to control frizzy hair.
  • A light application of hairspray on a hairbrush can be used to tame flyaway ends.
  • Do not shampoo your hair everyday so that the natural oils help tame the frizz.
Taming unruly bangs
If it’s your bangs that are causing the problem, try the following tricks to revup your look with minimal effort:
  • Apply a styling product to the bangs and blow dry them in the direction you wishyour hair to settle. For example, if you want your bangs to lay down straight, blowdry your hair towards down.
  • Shampoo your bangs and restyle them. This can save you from having to wash yourentire hair.
Managing split ends
  • The best treatment of split ends and the only cure is to trim them off. For thebest results, get a trim at least every 6 week.
  • If you are running short of time to go to a stylist for a trim, you can do yourown trims at home. Twist a small section of your hair from root to end, you willsee small hairs sticking out of the twist. Snip the hairs that stick out with apair of very sharp scissors.
  • For a quick fix at home, shine serums may help in sealing the split ends temporarily.Apply before blow drying and get the ends as straight as possible as splits willlook much worse with curly or frizzy hair.
Easy styling
  • If you have medium to long hair, whip your hair into a quick pony when you are in the midst of a badhair day. Ponytails are the quickest and easiest fix for hairstylefatigue as they suit any type, texture or style of hair. You can choosea high or a low ponytail.
  • If your hair is long enough to pullback, rake your hair into a bun. Pull your hair into a low ponytail andtwist your hair counter clockwise and around the base. Secure withbobby pins and hair sticks. For softer look, pull some strands aroundthe sides and front to frame your face.
  • If you have shorthair, consider adding a bobby pin to pull the sides away from yourface. You can even opt for a stylish hair band to hide any annoyinglocks on the sides of your head.
  • For very short hair, apply some styling wax or gel to your hair to freeze your hair into a desired style.
  • Regardless of the length of your hair, moving your parting can give you a brand new look and revamp your hair style.

For speed blow drying, section your hair with clips and dry one section at a time, rather than trying to blow dry the whole hair. It will save time for you.
