Dr. Anjana Thadhani is a renowned Consulting Developmental Pediatrician. She did her schooling from St Thomas School (ICSE), Lucknow. After completing MBBS, Dr Thadhani did DNB (Pediatrics), DCH and FCPS from LTMGH (Sion Hospital), Mumbai. She pursued her interest in Developmental Pediatrics and did post-graduate Diploma in Developmental Neurology from Kerala University along with training from various renowned institutes across the country. Thereafter she completed her Post-graduate diploma in Juvenile Jurisprudence and Juvenile Justice from Mumbai University, and stood first in the University. Interestingly, she is also a qualified Interior Designer, from Garodia School of Professional Studies, Mumbai.
She is the founder and director of Niramay Guidance Clinics at Chembur, Vashi and Kharghar, which are comprehensive centers for assessment of behavioral, educational and psychological problems of children and their remediation and treatment. Her field of activities includes assessment, diagnosis and rehabilitation of children with growth delays, physical disabilities, dyslexia, autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation, behavioral and academic problems and other related issues. She as Consulting Developmental Pediatrician also runs early intervention clinics for Neurodevelopmental assessment and follow-up of NICU graduates.
She has been attached to Learning Disability Clinic, LTMGH, Sion, Mumbai for over ten years.
She is also founder and proprietor, Niramaya Hospital, Maitri Park, Chembur, Mumbai, which is a multi-specialty hospital and Director of Niramaya Hospital, Kharghar, a premier 102-bedded hospital at Navi Mumbai.
A widely respected academician, Dr. Anjana Thadhani’s has presented many national and international research papers & publications on learning and behavioral problems in children. She is the Joint Secretary of IAP Growth, Development and Behavioral Pediatrics (IAP-GDBP) Chapter 2007-9 & 2009-11. She was the Organizing secretary of 7th National conference of IAP-GDBP Chapter at Mumbai in 2008. She has also been the Guest Editor, Indian Journal of Growth, Development and Behavioral Pediatrics special issue released at PEDICON 2008. Her academic contributions include being a faculty at Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) Growth & Development Chapter Conferences across India.
She is also a Consultant in child advocacy and child rights. She has been National Faculty and part of IAP-Child Rights and Protection Program a UNICEF-supported project involved in training of pediatricians and other healthcare workers / teachers for identification and reporting of child abuse and neglect and its management (UNICEF-supported). She also co-convened the workshop in Mumbai held in December 2007.
Dr. Thadhani has been conducting orientation and training programs on learning disability and other issues for pediatricians, teachers, principals and other health personnel and is currently working on similar projects in remote areas where these services are very deficient. She is also teaching faculty for B.Ed (special education) at various institutions.
She reaches out to the masses by interacting with children and parents in different capacities such as, Guest Speaker at schools, pre-schools, Rotary Club and other organizations, conducting parenting workshops for parents. Her social commitment has led her involvement with various organizations. She is a trustee of the Mohini Charitable Trust and is also deeply interested in Charity work for the underprivileged. She is involved with the Chinmaya Mission for health camps in tribal areas and Apnalaya in providing medical services for children of ragpickers at Govandi dump. |
