    my baby is 1 month old. What is the right diet for me for breastfeeding? Are there any foods I should avoid?

avoid spices and avoid fried food as these cause indigestion

A good wholesome diet with lots of milk, pulses and cereals is good. Fish and chicken is great if you are a non vegetarian. Milk is a must  - at least a litre a day in any form curd or paneer would also do. Have a regular helping of nuts - almonds, walnuts and cashews.
